Built 85 years ago, the course is located in the Saint-Tropez gulf, between Saint-Tropez and Saint-Maxime, in the town of Grimaud. With a due south facing sea exposure, the course benefits from an exceptional location with unique views over Saint-Tropez, Gassin and Port-Grimaud; all in a wooded area of cork oaks, mimosas and umbrella pines... The fairways snake between houses and forest. The few houses, built mostly long after the golf course, fit perfectly into the Mediterranean landscape of our course. We are continually making moves to plant more flora and we are trying to integrate the olive tree; the symbol of the Mediterranean sea... it is becoming our personal trademark, differentiating us by signalling the 135m mark with an olive tree instead of a cypress or a pole. A member can book one week in advance and non-members 2 days in advance. For the game itself, Beauvallon is a course that can be played on foot; a buggy is completely unnecessary. It is a very accessible course, not very long, but technical. It’s interest lies in the variation between the old and the new layout. To sum up, to be able to play the course, walking is an essential quality that pleases many people, especially the older generations who are happy to still be able to play on foot because, nowadays, more and more courses are played by using a buggy. Didier Gayat’s top choices: • Hole n°5: A surprise for 2007, par 3, 138m, this is nothing new... But it will now include the creation of an 800 m2 water feature, located on the left of the green and replacing the bunker, together with the expansion of the tee. • Hole n°12: The scenery along the length of this hole changes with every stroke: the forest, the vineyards, the sea and Saint-Tropez in the background... Golf Méditerranée’s opinion Is Beauvallon worth visiting? Better twice than never! All the players will tell you: Beauvallon has changed its reputation since it became an 18 hole course. It is a must. Come and sample the wonders of Beauvallon by choosing to traverse the Var coast and ending your golfing trip in Beauvallon. You will be able to take advantage of the wealth of this course, whose expansion was imaginatively planned out. Lovers of incredible sceneries over the Mediterranean sea are bound to be satisfied. Golfers will be seduced by the charms of the sixty year old undulating and lovingly tree-lined fairways. 18 holes • Par 70 • 5 570 m Address : boulevard des Collines - 83120 Sainte-Maxime Tel. +33 4 94 96 16 98 golfdebeauvallon@wanadoo.fr Where to have something to eat?
